The NEXT LEVEL health Program

The purpose of NEXT LEVEL HEALTH is to help women gain clear, personalized insight into their health - so they can make confident decisions about nutrition, movement, and lifestyle, and finally stop second-guessing themselves. This is a comprehensive program consisting of nine 1:1 consultations over 12 weeks. Each consultation lasts 50-75 minutes. Comprehensive bloodwork and personal genetics testing is included in the program. You will also receive unlimited email and private message support to assist you with implementation as we work through each section together.

PERSONALIZED

PLAN

Personalized nutrition

Discover your optimal nutrition based on lab testing, metabolic markers, identifying inflammatory foods and personal genetics. Let's take the guess-work out of your nutrition, and still leave room for flexibility.

Deep understanding of your metabolic health

Using bloodwork, nutrition tracking and continuous glucose monitor, we will assess and optimize metabolic health, whether your goal is weight loss or disease prevention. Metabolic health is CENTRAL to how we age, how we transition through perimenopause and menopause, and our energy.

Hormones

Assessing and optimizing hormones with a comprehensive approach. Hormone assessment includes estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, DHEA, testosterone, thyroid hormones, and insulin. All of your hormones interconnect - we can't look at any of them in isolation.

Personalized Exercise Plan

Based on your current fitness, personal genetics, hormones and fitness goals we will build a personalize exercise plan together.

Customized supplement plan

Starting with addressing current health complaints and working towards a personalized protocol for vitamins and supplements based on bloodwork, health goals and personal genetics.

LAB TESTING & ASSESSMENT

Personal genetics

Comprehensive testing with DNALabs, where we will use personal genetics to learn about nutrition, exercise, additional nutrient requirements, detox pathways and hormone metabolism.

Comprehensive bloodwork

Full bloodwork panel including hormones, nutrients, metabolic health markers, cardiovascular markers, signs of inflammation. This is more than you would typically do with a physical exam - we want to be thorough here.

Continuous Glucose Monitor

Using a continuous glucose monitor for 2 weeks to get in-depth data about how foods are impacting your blood sugar directly, which guides the creation of your personal nutrition plan.

Additional Assessment

We may also integrate data from DEXA scan and VO2 max testing to extend our metrics, and build in goals for current health and longevity. (This is referred out to external sites). DEXA scans measure body composition: muscle mass, bone density and visceral fat. VO2 max measures your cardiorespiratory fitness, which is a known longevity marker.

Mindset

Your mindset shapes how consistently you can apply what your body needs. In Next Level Health, we address the thought patterns that quietly sabotage progress - perfectionism, all-or-nothing thinking, and the belief that you have to “try harder” to feel better. This work helps you shift from control and restriction into trust, self-awareness, and sustainable change—so your health plan actually fits.

Nervous system

Your body cannot repair, adapt, or thrive in a constant state of stress. Nervous system regulation is often the missing piece when nutrition and exercise “should be working” but aren’t. In this program, you’ll learn practical, science-backed tools to calm an overtaxed nervous system, improve recovery, support sleep, and restore resilience—so your body can respond instead of resist.

Coaching & Support

This is not a self-directed program. You are supported throughout the process with one-on-one guidance, accountability, and space to integrate what we uncover together. Coaching helps you apply the data, navigate real-life challenges, and stay grounded as you make changes—so progress feels steady, intentional, and sustainable, not overwhelming.

Dr. Shawna Darou, ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with over 22 years of experience with a a focus on women’s health, hormones, and metabolic optimization. She integrates advanced diagnostic testing and evidence-based strategies to create precise, individualized care plans for women at all ages, especially perimenopause and menopause. A Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner through the Institute for Functional Medicine, Dr. Darou is known for her analytical, data-informed approach and her ability to translate complex physiology into clear, actionable steps. She has helped thousands of women achieve measurable improvements in energy, metabolism, and long-term health outcomes.
